The first day of the seminar was dedicated to equipping the participants with relevant knowledge on employability skills such as career job searching, career planning as well as interview skills. The second day immersed the students on entrepreneurship sessions as an alternative to youth employment. Also, the event involved exhibitions whereby companies, NGO’s, and entrepreneurs were able to showcase their services and products.
Among other things the seminar oriented the participants with financial management skills as well as problem solving skills using “Community toolbox” toolkit. The students were imparted with knowledge on how to use the tool towards addressing challenges such as unemployment, poor waste management facing their communities and turning them into opportunities using the knowledge and available resources within their networks.
As not enough the participants were challenged to use Voluntarism to solve social problems and gain relevant working experience in their respective careers.
The seminar was very fruitful and participants were urged to share the knowledge and skills they have gained with other young people.
