Leadership Training for Students Organization


On 9th February, 2019 Pamoja Youth Initiative (PYI) through Leadership Development Program conducted leadership training to the student's organization at Mpapa Secondary School located at Central District in Unguja. The training involved 25 students from Mpapa Secondary School student's organization

The training aimed at building the capacity of student’s leaders on leadership, self-management as well as goal setting. This training was facilitated by Our Chairperson Mr. Rashid Mwinyi who is also a member of Feed the Future Tanzania Advancing Youth Advisory Council, Ms. Asma Ali, Finance and Administration Officer and Mr. Shineni Haji.

The training oriented the participants on the concept of leadership, qualities of a good leaders, mentorship, goal setting, time management and team building activities.

The training was very productive and the students were very keen to participate.



Beach Cleanup Stone town Beaches

We Pamoja Youth Initiative proud ourselves to participate on a very big and important event of cleaning up the beach at Stone Town and welcoming the flip flopi boat. The boat was entirely made by plastic wastes from the sea and beach in Lamu Kenya.
Let's all join our hands to fight against plastics pollution.

Announcing a New Project on Nurturing the Culture of Learning



We are excited to announce the opening of our library project in Uzini Primary School, Central district of Unguja, designed to support the culture of reading books in early age. Reading books promotes students communication skills enhance language skills and fluency as well as allowing them to express their ideas and thought better.

For this particular project we will work with Zanzibar Library Services to improve the management of library. This library will work alongside with teachers, youths, local community and students by conducting reading club sessions, as well as competitions to motivate culture of reading books among the students and youths.

Interested in getting involved?

We are thrilled that Book for Africa, Zanzibar Adventure School and Zanzibar Library Services are part of the contributors for this project. 
We are seeking partner organizations and individuals who would like to contribute books, or work as volunteers in this project. 

We are also planning to launch classes and teach life skills and other preferred skills to the youth and the community living in Uzini Village. If you are interested to work with us in this project, please email me us info@pamoja.or.tz
