Announcing a New Project on Nurturing the Culture of Learning



We are excited to announce the opening of our library project in Uzini Primary School, Central district of Unguja, designed to support the culture of reading books in early age. Reading books promotes students communication skills enhance language skills and fluency as well as allowing them to express their ideas and thought better.

For this particular project we will work with Zanzibar Library Services to improve the management of library. This library will work alongside with teachers, youths, local community and students by conducting reading club sessions, as well as competitions to motivate culture of reading books among the students and youths.

Interested in getting involved?

We are thrilled that Book for Africa, Zanzibar Adventure School and Zanzibar Library Services are part of the contributors for this project. 
We are seeking partner organizations and individuals who would like to contribute books, or work as volunteers in this project. 

We are also planning to launch classes and teach life skills and other preferred skills to the youth and the community living in Uzini Village. If you are interested to work with us in this project, please email me us info@pamoja.or.tz

Our Chairperson Mr. Rashid Mwinyi represented Pamoja Youth Initiative on a very hot youth dialogue which involved the youth from every angle of Unguja to discuss the youth involvement and participation in decision making and development activities. The event was held at Mazsons Hotel on 27th December, 2018 under the sponsorship of  Action Aids Tanzania.

Nama Get Hired Seminar

from 22nd and 23rd ofDecember, 2018 members of Pamoja Youth Initiative participated in Career Fair Seminar titled “Nama Get Hired” organised by Nama Foundation under its partner, An-Nahl Trust which took place at City Garden, Gerezani-Dares Salaam. The event involved 100 participants including university students and recent graduates from Tanzania. The Seminar was officiated by Minister of Industry, Trade and investment, Hon. Joseph Kakunda. 
The first day of the seminar was dedicated to equipping the participants with relevant knowledge on employability skills such as career job searching, career planning as well as interview skills. The second day immersed the students on entrepreneurship sessions as an alternative to youth employment. Also, the event involved exhibitions whereby companies, NGO’s, and entrepreneurs were able to showcase their services and products. 
Among other things the seminar oriented the participants with financial management skills as well as problem solving skills using “Community toolbox” toolkit. The students were imparted with knowledge on how to use the tool towards addressing challenges such as unemployment, poor waste management facing their communities and turning them into opportunities using the knowledge and available resources within their networks. 
As not enough the participants were challenged to use Voluntarism to solve social problems and gain relevant working experience in their respective careers.
The seminar was very fruitful and participants were urged to share the knowledge and skills they have gained with other young people.

World Business Angles Investment Forum

Pamoja Youth Initiative is so excited and honored two have two representatives Mr. Haroub Ali Kassim our Deputy General Secretary and Ms. Asma Ali Moh'd our Finance and Administration Officer in World Business Angles Investment Forum which took place at Hayatt Regency Hotel in Dar es Salaam Tanzania from 18th to 19th December, 2018.

Community leadership Program workshop

Congratulation to our own Deputy General Secretary Mr. Haroub Ali and Finance and Administration Officer Ms. Asma Ali for completing four days Community Leadership Program workshop which was organized by An_Nahl_Trust in collaboration with GREEN LIGHT Foundation - GLF Zanzibar from 28th November to 01st December 2018 at Zanzibar Insurance Conference Center.
